Part of the United Kingdom LEI knowledge hub — back to the United Kingdom pillar.
UK trade repository LEI requirements require applicable derivative and SFT reports to include valid LEI information where legal-entity identification is required. These reports are validated at FCA-registered UK trade repositories, which check LEI status before making the data available to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) and other relevant authorities.
The reporting entity submits its report to an FCA-registered or recognised trade repository. Trade repositories perform LEI validation checks on applicable report fields before accepting submissions. Accepted reports are stored and made available to the relevant UK authorities.
At submission — the TR validates that the LEI is Issued or Pending Transfer for the relevant fields.
Keep the LEI current; a lapse is the most common cause of TR rejection.
